In Paraguay, Terra-i performed habitat status monitoring every 16 days from the 1st January 2004 until the 31th of December 2011. During the 8 years studied it detected a cumulative habitat loss of 2,209,325 hectares, equivalent to an annual national loss rate of 276,166 ha / year.

In Paraguay, Terra-i performed habitat status monitoring every 16 days from the 1st January 2004 until the 31th of December 2011. During the 8 years studied it detected a cumulative habitat loss of 2,209,325 hectares, equivalent to an annual national loss rate of 276,166 ha / year. The departments of Boquerón and Alto Paraguay registered the highest losses, with 1,242,156 hectares and 606,794 hectares lost respectively between the years 2004 and 2011.

The most impacted ecoregion was the Dry Chaco, which registered 93% of the deforestation that occurred in Paraguay during the years analysed. This ecosystem is present in both the departments of Boquerón and Alto Paraguay. Closed Deciduous forests within the Dry Chaco were the most heavily affected ecosystems.
